Remember watching a toy top spin? It not only spins around on its point, but it makes a circular wobble. The Earth, like a top, turns on its axis, making a revolution each day. It also makes a wobble like a top; however in the case of the Earth, to make a full circular wobble takes around 26,000 years. This creates a lengthy astrological cycle called a Great Year with 12 Great Ages of around 2160 years in each Age. Named for the 12 signs of the zodiac, the Great Ages move back through the signs. Our present age, called the Age of Pisces, began roughly around the time of the birth of Jesus and we are approaching the end of this age and the beginning of the next Great Age, called the Age of Aquarius.
The many extreme events associated with the “pandemic” focused on the year 2020 can be seen as big hints as to what is approaching on the horizon in terms of the new Age of Aquarius. This is especially true because there was a huge number of planets moving over the sensitive border between Capricorn andAquarius. All these hints made it perfectly clear that we have truly entered, as the song says, “The Dawning of the Age of Aquarius.”
A large number of important planets moved between two very different signs, Capricorn and Aquarius. Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn, which represents stability, and Aquarius is ruled by unruly Uranus, a planet representing radical change. Hence the years around 2019 and 2020, when many major planets were involved in a grand passage over this sensitive border, suggested to astrologers transformation on a gigantic scale.
There have been many previous hints of the coming transition between the Great Ages of Pisces and Aquarius. To name a few: the 1960s New Age revolution, the technology revolution, the spiritual revolution, the gay, racial and feminist revolutions, etc., and now another image of powerful transformation is pointing towards the radical sign of awakening, Aquarius . . . slow moving, distant Pluto, dark king of Hades, is the last outer planet to complete his passage over this
charged cusp, gearing up to enter Aquarius in 2024. Since Pluto has a cycle of around 248 years, he was last at this degree of the zodiac around 1776, suggesting that we can add to the list of hints of major revolution: another American political revolution!
However, I want to add yet another vital dimension to this story. My new book, published by Inner Traditions – Bear & Company, Alchemical Tantric Astrology, presents the correlation between the signs of the zodiac and the chakras of Tantric Yoga. This correlation begins with Aquarius at the bottom of the chart wheel associated with the 1st Root Chakra, located at the base of the spine, and proceeding up through the signs and chakras to Leo and the 7th Crown Chakra
located at the top of the skull.
This chakra/planet correlation once again places special importance on the cusp between the signs Capricorn and Aquarius. It’s importance lies in the fact that in the chakra system a mighty serpent named Kundalini is shown coiled at the base of the spine, suggesting that the powerful energy of awakening known as kundalini is associated with the Root Chakra and hence its two accompanying signs of the zodiac, Capricorn and Aquarius. I like to call kundalini the energy of awakening, transformation, and evolution. Aquarius, being a springtime sign, active as the earth awakens from wintery Capricorn, is certainly related to kundalini.
This association between Aquarius and kundalini allowed me to make the observation that the time around 2020, during the transit of a large group of powerful planets over this part of the zodiac, was sure to activate extremely powerful energy for awakening and evolution! And isn’t that what happened?! It was not an easy or comfortable time, but it was certainly fundamentally transformative.
Like in 2020, the years around 2023 and 2024 are once again heavy with similar symbolism as powerful dwarf planet Pluto, the divinity of the Apocalypse, finally takes his turn transiting this charged cusp, making five passages over this same kundalini portal on his way into Aquarius for about a 20 year visit in this sign of awakening. The 20 year period while Pluto, dark king of the underworld, transits Aquarius is certain to include several themes. Perhaps most obvious will be the dialog between Humanity and Technology and the related themes of control of the masses, AI, surveillance, and transhumanism. Will we be able to continue true human values in the face of the glamor of convenience and the efficiency of machine mentality?
Although most astrologers do not view this passage of Pluto into the sign of Aquarius as indicating the actual beginning of the new great Age, it is certainly a prime pointer in that direction. It is also not clear what we will find when we do awaken and what we will do after awakening. Every sign has its front side and its back side, and Aquarius has an ample share of both, and frankly as the popular song kind of goes, “Waking up is so very hard to do.” Ha!
Perhaps we can see some indication of what is coming by looking at the period of the 1960s when Uranus, ruler of Aquarius, was conjunct Pluto, divinity of the underworld. We might simplify the time as one of Uranus’
heavenly high idealism on one hand and dark underground Pluto’s “sex, drugs, and rock and roll” on the other hand. Apparently we cannot count on astrology to promise us total smooth sailing, only change and duality.
Another important Aquarian hint occurred in 2020 at the Capricorn Solstice when the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction occurred at zero degrees of Aquarius. This might be interpreted rather positively as an upward movement from dark wintery Capricorn to bright springtime Aquarius. However . . .
Although estimates differ, in somewhere around 100 years from now we will be truly moving from the Age of Pisces into the Age of Aquarius. This sounds pretty good, right? However . . . that particular celestial motion of the Great Ages moves in a retrograde or backward fashion and so, after roughly 2,160 years in the Age of Aquarius, we will move back into the sign of Capricorn. It might not be a great idea to wait around for that eventuality. In any case, as we probably already know, it is best to be in the present moment as much as we can!
It is certainly clear that many significant worldwide events have occurred in the awakening sign of Aquarius lately and there are some monumental ones looming on the horizon. We can be pretty sure we will be shaken to our roots with the activation of evolutionary power as symbolized by the kundalini serpent coiled and ready to spring forth when Aquarius is involved. Activated kundalini is an energy that is often challenging and tumultuous, but likely to be for our benefit in the big picture. So stay tuned!

Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system, is appropriately associated in myth with the King of the Gods. Although less bright than Venus, from our perspective, Jupiter’s royal cycle of 12 years or about one sign per year – not too slow nor too fast – is especially easy and important to follow.
Astrologers acknowledge Jupiter’s grandeur by assigning him as ruling planet of the sign and constellation of Sagittarius, the Centaur Archer, home to the center of our own Milky Way Galaxy. Jupiter is therefore not only the largest planet in our solar system, but being located in the Archer, he is also galactic representative. When Jupiter transits another planet this makes his visit an occasion of royal import.
When the King visits everything gets exaggerated!
The Alchemical Tantric Arrangement (ATA) of the zodiac places Capricorn and Aquarius on the bottom of the chart and Cancer and Leo on the top so that the signs are aligned in order with the 7 chakras, 7 alchemical metals, and the 7 traditional planets. From Aquarius to Leo the symbolism is of raising the awareness from the 1st Root chakra to the 7th or Crown chakra and transforming the alchemical metals from lead to gold.
JUPITER TRANSIT
This particular 12 year cycle of Jupiter is unique because all the planets beyond Jupiter are contained within a small area of the zodiac stretching from Capricorn to Vacca/Taurus. These signs of the zodiac correspond in the Alchemical Tantric Arrangement to the first four chakras.
THE CHAKRAS and their associated SIGNS in the ALCHEMICAL TANTRIC ASTROLOGY ARRANGEMENT
12th Hermetic sign Capricorn & 1st Hermetic sign Aquarius = 1st Root Chakra
Pluto
By moving through the signs and transiting the outer planets, Jupiter is giving us a royal alchemical show. His first visit was with his underworld brother Pluto in April of 2020 in Capricorn followed by the dramatic conjunction at the winter solstice with Saturn in the 1st degree of Aquarius. With these two transits Jupiter expanded, or might we say exaggerated, the focus on death while bringing his old 12 year cycle to completion in the sign of the Fishgoat.
Saturn
In addition to death, Jupiter’s conjunction with Saturn further expanded the ringed planet’s association with limitations by manifesting in the form of worldwide lockdowns!
2nd Hermetic sign Pisces = 2nd Sacral Chakra
Neptune
Jupiter’s next major conjunction was with nebulous Neptune, and it was a doozy, offering astrologers a world-class cruise-ship level opportunity for interpretation. Both Jupiter and Neptune are rulers of Pisces with Jupiter exponentially expanding Neptune’s many and diverse qualities. I like to say that Neptune is like the ocean with multiple characteristics from calm and deep to stormy and foggy. Just a few of the many attributes related to Neptune include: addiction, dreams, religion, emotions, intuition, illusion, confusion, faith, fantasy, psychic ability, etc. I also connect Neptune with Poseidon of ancient Crete, where he was the earth-shaker and bringer of the tsunami. Living on the west coast of the U.S. this image of the Bull from the Sea is both rich and daunting. Neptune’s vast range of oceanic possibilities is as numerous as fish in the sea, however, the deep bottom line is the opposite to the limits of Saturn . . . a lack of boundaries and far-reaching emotional freedom.
From the ATA or Hermetic perspective both signs, Sagittarius and Pisces, correlate with the watery 2nd sacral chakra. Located at the level in the human body of the sacrum and genitals, the 2nd chakra emphasizes both sacred and sexual. Both Jupiter and Neptune are powerfully sexual — reproductive brothers of vast expanses, sky and sea. The key word in ATA for Pisces is “fertilizing” and we can expect Jupiter’s royal presence to bring exaggeration in conjunction with Neptune to charged emotional extremes and mental, physical and psychic deep waters.
The transit of Jupiter and Neptune through Pisces has another meaningful dimension and that is in relation to the ending of the 2,160 year Age of Pisces. As Jupiter expands Neptune’s presence, we can learn more about what we might expect for the next 100 years or so while this very dramatic age of the fishes winds down.
3rd Hermetic sign Aries = 3rd Navel Chakra
Since all the outer planets happen to be gathered in a handy bundle from Pluto at the end of Capricorn to Uranus in Vacca/Taurus, the Alchemical Tantric Arrangement becomes especially helpful in allowing us to appreciate the larger spiritual cycle. King Jupiter can be observed to continue climbing Jacob’s Ladder as he now reaches the 3rd level with the cardinal fire sign, Aries, and the 3rd Navel fire chakra. King Jupiter will visit maverick Chiron and intense Eris in March and April of 2023. We might expect exaggeration or expansion of wounding and healing related to the interaction with Chiron, especially since Chiron holds a pivotal role in the ATA arrangement. Likewise, energetic Eris could also be highly activated because her fiery nature is already strong in this sign associated with the 3rd fire chakra. Jupiter together with Eris can be expected to accompany a major movement against injustice, especially by women.
In terms of the movement from Pisces and the ending of this dramatic 2,160 year Age of the Fishes, the meeting of King Jupiter with heavy-duty Chiron and Eris in fiery Aries could be viewed as actively clearing the way for transitioning from the old Age of Pisces, represented by Neptune, to the New Age of Aquarius, represented by Uranus in the next sign Vacca/Taurus.
4th Hermetic Sign Vacca/Taurus = 4th Heart Chakra
Uranus
King Jupiter moves into the 4th Hermetic sign and 4th Heart chakra on June 1st, 2023, meeting soon thereafter with Rahu, the Head of the Dragon in Vacca/Taurus, exaggerating evolutionary drama, which can be both rewarding and dis-orienting. Then on April 20, 2024, Jupiter meets the final outer planet, surprising heavenly Uranus, for an exaggerated show of radical innovation in Gaia’s earthy sign of the Cow and Bull. Both Rahu and Uranus have special connotations in the ATA or Hermetic astrology for awakening serpent power kundalini energy, so besides the usual/unusual symbolism of Promethean Uranus we have the likelihood of even more evolutionary opportunities! Since we are dealing with the heart center chakra, there are hints that new levels and meanings of cosmic love might be involved in the conjunction of the king with his radical heavenly grandfather; plus we might expect some major fireworks in the sky from these Heavenly guys, shared with shakeups from Gaia in her sign of fixed but perhaps radically shifting Earth.
Completing the Cycle
However, it should be noted that the Alchemical Tantric Arrangement accents the total cycle, which means Jupiter will be extending the fullness of visiting all 7 outer planets (including Chiron and the North Node) on the way up the ATA zodiac and continuing on into the 5th Throat chakra and Gemini, accenting Mercury the Messenger in May of 2024; the 6th Brow chakra and Cancer (where Jupiter is exalted) in June of 2025; and finally, at the pinnacle of Leo, to be crowned King once again on June 29th, 2026. When Jupiter enters royal Leo, the ATA symbolism is both of the golden alchemical marriage at the crown chakra and thereafter the distribution of the golden insights downward starting with the harvest goddess in Virgo.
See the chart below with Jupiter in golden Leo at the mid-heaven and silvery Cancer also accented. At the end of Leo is lovely Venus followed by the Tail of the Dragon in Virgo, ready for the hand-off of the alchemical elixir. The Hindu myth of Rahu and Ketu tells of the demon stealing some of the God’s ambrosia and the “Crown” (or “Corona” now associated with a “virus”) suggests some mix-up during this transition. However, Love in the form of exalted Venus can be counted on to save the day and continue distributing the golden elixir downward.
A glowing metaphor for this highest realm is of Alchemical Gold, forming the radiant aura or halo of enlightenment – Yoga as total Oneness. Notice in the chart for Jupiter’s entry into Leo in 2026, (see above with whole signs in the ATA arrangement) how rather than the former emphasis on squares between the outer planets, now, largely in the air and fire signs, they are forming many harmonic sextiles. These more harmonious aspects and with the outer planets progressing into new signs by 2026, it looks to be a time of a new and hopefully more positive golden era. Jupiter as King of the Gods fits well with this 7th crown chakra and its very large perspective. Jupiter as ruler of Sagittarius makes him an agent of the Galactic Center, representative to what I like to call the Great Central Gal, Goddess of the massive black hole at the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. Jupiter will be poised at the Crown to communicate with Galaxy Central for new inspiration on how to manage the next 12 years.
Notice how Jupiter at the beginning of Leo is now beginning the second half of his transits in the cycle with an opposition to Pluto in Aquarius at the full 180 degree point in their cycle while also at the crown pinnacle of the ATA chart and straddling the upper end of the central channel of the chakras. The Moon’s nodes will soon transit Leo/Aquarius with the South Node meeting Jupiter during this year, 2026, adding even more evolutionary potential.
Additional oppositions to the outer planets will be formed on the downward side of Jupiter’s ATA cycle. Indeed this could be a good test of the differences between the conjunctions and oppositions as Jupiter transits at 180 degrees to Pluto, Saturn, Neptune, Eris, Chiron, and Uranus. Of course, differing signs will also be emphasized: art and relationship in Libra; intense transformation in Scorpio; Leela or divine play in Jupiter’s home sign of Sagittarius; and finally rounding out the 12 signs and 12 years, transiting once again the 12th completing Hermetic sign, Capricorn. King Jupiter will enter Aquarius to begin a new cycle in November of 2032 and soon thereafter will visit his underworld brother Pluto again, this time in awakening Aquarius. If John Michael Greer, author of The Twilight of Pluto, is correct, Pluto could be losing a great deal of his power by then, due to his being demoted in 2006, 24 years before.
What an amazing 12 years these will be, stretching from 2020 destruction reaching upwards to 2026 Phoenix-like renewal, hopefully with brilliant golden insights to assimilate downward before Jupiter begins anew in Aquarius in 2032. The world will surely look radically different after this highly charged tour by the King throughout his entire kingdom!

FIVE NEW YEARS
For a more complete understanding of the Alchemical Tantric Arrangement (ATA), it will be formative to take a look at the
FIVE major New Year times:
1. New Year based on the Capricorn or Winter Solstice point (in the northern hemisphere);
2. New Year January First;
3. ATA or Hermetic New Year;
4. Lunar or Chinese New Year, based on the beginning of Spring in the northern hemisphere; and
5. New Year based on the beginning of Aries, first sign in the natural order of the zodiac, at the March Equinox.
1. Winter Solstice in the northern hemisphere is the first starting point, accenting the return of the light from the darkest time — the center of winter. Winter Solstice makes a good beginning for the New Year because of its resonance with Christmas as the symbolic time of divine birth. Being in December and Capricorn, the emphasis is on how the new is related to the old.
2. New Year in the western calendar occurs at the first instant after midnight between December 31st and January 1st, so the astrological chart for this popular beginning time will show the Sun near the nadir (lowest point) at around 10 degrees of Capricorn. (Capricorn has an affinity with the number 10) Fortunately, this makes Libra the rising sign, and therefore Venus becomes the overall ruler of the New Year chart. Looking at the symbolism of midnight, close to mid winter in the northern hemisphere, this New Year also strongly suggests the return of the light from a period of darkness.
I have named this point around 10 degrees of Capricorn, the “Morpheus point” after the Roman divinity of sleep and dreams. Morpheus is a shape shifter and carries some of the flavor of the New Year’s Eve masquerade ball, with an emphasis on Venus since the custom is to kiss the person you are with at the exact beginning of the New Year. I have found it instructive to watch the transits over this Morpheus point each year. Recently (roughly between the years of 2011 through 2014), Pluto, fittingly the divinity of the underworld, has been transiting this point, and thereby coloring the bottom of each New Year’s chart for the last few years with the apocalyptic symbolism of Hades and Persephone. Capricorn’s rulership by Saturn, with this serious sign’s connection to the alchemical metal, lead, and to the first or root chakra, produces a heavy and grounding symbolism. Dec-ember once again emphasizes the number 10 although it is actually the twelfth month of the year.
The month of January adds the presence of the Roman two-faced divinity, Janus, looking back over the past year and forward to the new year. At the end of 2017, Saturn entered Capricorn and, in 2018 and 2019, transited the Morpheus point. Jupiter did the same at the beginning of 2020. It is instructive to compare the transits of these three, Pluto, Saturn, and Jupiter, as they crossed over the Morpheus point.
3. The ATA or Hermetic New Year has been added to the list because it is the yearly time when the Sun moves from Capricorn into Aquarius and over the potent Chiron/kundalini portal, a prime time for kundalini rising. This is actually an important chart for looking at the New Year and what I am calling the ATA or Hermetic New Year because it emphasizes Alchemy and the Tantric Chakras. It represents a huge yearly solar shift from the completion of wintery Capricorn to the most subtle, yet clear, beginnings of the return of the light in Aquarius. In terms of the Tantric chakras, it is a most auspicious time for awakening the kundalini serpent at the base of the spine, and in alchemy, it represents the shift from inert lead (related to Capricorn and Saturn) to radioactive uranium (related to Uranus, ruler of Aquarius). The planet Uranus was especially accented in the ATA New Year 2022 Chart, being newly stationary direct and conjunct the mid-heaven.
4. Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year begins at the first stirrings of Spring, the first cross-quarter time after the winter solstice. It is usually celebrated at the new moon of Aquarius, so that both the Sun and the Moon are at the beginning of their cycles. The solstice points, being the times of longest day and longest night, are clearly the mid-points of summer and winter. Likewise, the equinoxes, half way between the solstices, are therefore the center points of spring and fall. Hence, the cross-quarter times at the mid-point of the four fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) are the natural beginnings of the four seasons. Traditionally, these cross-quarter times were celebrated by earth-oriented folks as: May Day or Beltane, May 1st; Lammas, August 1st; Samhain, October 31st; and Imbolc, February 1st. This time is especially important for AstroYoga because it resonates with the ATA beginning sign, Aquarius, and the first or root chakra, beginning the upward/accumulating path of the Tantric or Hermetic zodiac.
5. The March equinox and center of the season at the first degree of the tropical sign of Aries, is the beginning of the natural order of the zodiac, and is especially fitting if we look at Aries’ primal role in the upward/accumulating path of the ATA. Fiery Aries is the first and foremost sign, of cardinal fire; followed by earthy Taurus, most fixed of the fixed; then by the most mutable sign, airy Gemini; and again cardinal, this time in the fourth element of water, Cancer. Before we reach the uppermost crown chakra in Leo, we will have passed through the four most archetypical elemental signs. The New Moon in Aries could also be examined in this series for another look into how the year will continue to unfold after the Sun is well into the year.
These five or six New Year times, being especially pivotal, have the potential to produce a very revealing view of any New Year. The addition of Hermetic alchemical and tantric chakra perspectives promises even clearer spiritual insights.

An Easy Introduction to Alchemical Tantric Astrology
Each sign of the natural zodiac has a planet that is most similar to the meaning
of that sign and is called its “ruler”. The traditional ruling planets of the 12
signs of the zodiac come in pairs, e.g., two signs, Gemini and Virgo, are both ruled
by the planet Mercury. Five pairs of ruling planets are arranged in their natural
order; two signs are each ruled by Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Venus, and Mercury. When the Moon and Sun are added that makes the 7 traditional planets.
The key to Alchemical Tantric Astrology is the rotation of the 12 signs of the zodiac so that this order of traditional ruling planets runs from the 2 signs ruled by Saturn, Capricorn and Aquarius, at the bottom of the circle, to the two signs, Cancer and Leo, at the top. This puts the 7 planets in their proper order from Aquarius to Leo with 5 signs completing the circle of 12 from Virgo to Capricorn.
In Alchemy each planet relates to an alchemical metal, so the 7 traditional planets correspond in order from Saturn to the Sun: lead, tin, iron, copper, mercury, silver, and gold. The alchemists utilized the same symbols for the 7 traditional planets and the 7 alchemical metals. This transition from lead at the bottom of the ATA chart to gold at the top is like the popular understanding of the alchemical opus or work: transforming lead into gold.
Amazingly, it so happens that this seven-fold alchemical and planetary order aligns perfectly with the 7 chakras of the Tantric yoga system. Other astrologers have known about this correlation; however I arrived at it the long way, trying to make sense of why so many significant transits pointed to the sign Capricorn for the ending of the cycle.
The new planets discovered with the help of technology, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, also conform to the ATA arrangement, correlating perfectly with the 1st, 2nd
and 3rd chakras in order. This arrangement is especially revealing when we recall that at the base of the 1st or Root Chakra is where the powerful transformative kundalini serpent is said to reside. Hence when planets transit this cusp between Capricorn and Aquarius, it is reasonable to conclude that kundalini, the energy of super transformation, will be awakened.
This association of the Root Chakra at the cusp of Capricorn and Aquarius with the kundalini serpent, allowed me to predict that the years 2019 and 2020, when so many planets transited this highly charged cusp, that major transformation was highly likely. And these intense times are likely to continue and perhaps even intensify over the years 2023 and 2024 when the final outer planet, Pluto, divinity of the apocalypse, makes FIVE transits of this pivotal cusp that I now call “The Kundalini Portal”!
As presented in my book, Alchemical Tantric Astrology, and in my blogs on the ATA website, many other revelations follow along after one understands the ramifications of the Alchemical Tantric Arrangement. Not the least of these revelations is learning to follow transits around the ATA cycle with an appreciation of the spiritual cycle symbolized by making Alchemical Gold and raising the kundalini energy up through the chakras towards ultimate enlightenment. Many forms of astrology have a spiritual potential; however, Alchemical Tantric Astrology demonstrates the spiritual processes and goals in a remarkably clear fashion.

As I was contemplating Pluto moving slowly through the end of Capricorn and approaching Aquarius, it became clear that Pluto/Hades’ archetypal meaning as ruler of the underworld is resonant with the end of Capricorn as the deepest point from the perspective of Alchemical Tantric Astrology (ATA). Note the correlation of the two lowest signs, Capricorn and Aquarius, and their two ruling planets, Saturn and Uranus with the first or Root Chakra in the Tantric seven chakra system.
(See Opening Image of THE CHAKRAS and their associated SIGNS and PLANETS according to Alchemical Tantric Astrology)
This arrangement further suggests that the end of Capricorn is the end of each cycle and therefore Pluto is nearing the end of his 248 year cycle that is strongly connected to the American Revolution, meaning that we are closely approaching Pluto’s position at 27 degrees of Capricorn in the U.S. 1776 Sibley chart.
Apparently the effects of Pluto transiting through Capricorn have an even more radical meaning, likely related to its position at the bottom of the ATA chart, an effect that we might call “Evolution.”
To understand why I say “evolution,” we need to go back one more cycle of Pluto. We can turn to Bruce Scofield’s excellent article in the June/July 2019 The Mountain Astrologer, “Saturn Conjunct Pluto and the Return of Quetzalcoatl,” where he demonstrates how “Previous Saturn-Pluto conjunctions occurred during times of extreme cultural and territorial shifts.” He uses Cortez’s invasion and destruction of Moctezuma’s Aztec Mexico around 1520 as a prime example. Although the addition of Saturn to the mix, being the ruler of Capricorn, is no doubt exceptionally powerful, when we look at the period around 1776 when Pluto was last in Capricorn, although Saturn did not overlap Pluto, we can still see a similar theme of the beginning of the end of the North American Indians. From the standpoint of the American Revolution, we might interpret this period in time as gloriously positive; however, from the standpoint of indigenous people it can be viewed as the beginning of horrible genocide.
During the most recent transit of Pluto in Capricorn by a truly amazing number of accompanying transits including the South Node, Jupiter, and Saturn, I think it is no wonder that the results in 2019 and beyond were absolutely mind-boggling.
And, I believe that we can expect more massive worldwide destruction and transformation, when Pluto, divinity of the apocalypse, makes FIVE conjunctions with the end of Capricorn in 2023 and 2024, with perhaps a final coup de grace to the USA Constitution. As they used to say in the Navy, “Batten down the hatches, a storm is coming.”
How about AFTER Pluto enters Aquarius for good in 2024?
The “Onward and upward” springtime energy should become obvious, with all the major outer planets on the upward side of the ATA zodiac, however, how it feels will depend upon which team you are on, the Invaders or the Indigenous.
And what can we say about why Pluto transiting through Capricorn is so disruptive?
Looking at it from the perspective of Alchemical Tantric Astrology, it seems obvious to me that Capricorn, being the final ATA sign, brings with it the need for the old to die so that the new can be born. The transition from wintery Capricorn to springtime Aquarius contains other major shifts: rulership from conservative Saturn to radical Uranus; stable alchemical metal lead to radioactive uranium; and from the downward to upward path in the ATA zodiac.
Chart
In terms of tantric yoga, the related First or Root Chakra contains the Svayambhu Lingam around which the powerful serpent Kundalini is said to be coiled. The three primary nadis or subtle nerves meet at this point and it is said that when the two channels, Ida and Pingala, are in balance, then the third central channel Sushumna and kundalini are activated. Kundalini is a powerful spiritual energy for evolution and, in the form of a serpent, is further symbolically associated with the double helix DNA. It is my intuition that the approximately 125 BILLION miles of DNA in our bodies contains encoded and awaiting activation amazing knowledge and unimagined potential for transformation. It seems reasonable that transits to this major transition point can be powerfully activating. Sometimes the intensity of awakening kundalini is acceptable and at other times it can be overwhelming, both for the individual and the society.
And so, Yes, for all these reasons and more, I believe that Pluto deserves to be considered a co-ruler of Capricorn, with the last degree as the most critical.
